Steering Through Chaos is a must read for any and every church leader. Actually, I take that back. Steering Through Chaos is a must read for any and every church leader who wants to change and grow through big visions that God’s put in their heart. If you’re a church leader who is content with the progress of your church, or you are comfortable with the way things are being done right now, then don’t read the book. You’ll get convicted. You won’t do anything about it. Then, you’ll feel guilty. It would be better to just leave this one alone.

If you’re a church leader of the former crowd then definitely pick up this book! Steering Through Chaos will definitely help navigate through the changes that will take place in your church. From the get go author, Scott Wilson shares his heart and journey on the path to change. Scott shows the heart change he went through before he even thought about changing his church. In fact, Scott’s vision is based on how he’s aligned his heart with God’s.

Scott’s attention to story and the narrative of his own journey through change are what drew me into reading the book. It’s more than just a manual, it’s a journal of change. His book also includes discussion questions that would be extremely helpful if you are leading a staff, board, or key volunteers through a challenging change process.

Personally, this book is helping me right now as I am experiencing change in my ministry position. I’m excited about the future, but Scott’s book reminded me how to handle the change, and keep the chaos coming!
