just between us...

man, i'm still processing our msm retreat from feb 12-13 this month. believe in cincinnati, oh. how do you completely process taking 80 5th-8th graders and leaders to an event for msm students with thousands of other kids? how do you sort through a worshipful and visual experience with kids who are trying to figure out how to connect with god? i don't think i can completely process it all, but i do have a few thoughts...

-something happens when you take someone out of their normal routine and distractions.
-something happens when 80 msm students ride on a charter bus for 3 hours straight.
-something happens when 13 leaders are focused on building relationships with students.
-something happens when an area is full of students raising their hands to worship god.
-something happens when students are taught how to connect with their god.
-something happens when msm boys overtake a hotel room and leave their middle school funk.

what happens (except in the last one) is that god comes and changes people. god comes when we remove our distractions. god changes students and leaders when their focus is on building relationships with each other. students grow when they are taught how to connect with god through music.
