just between us...

it's true. i do love my church. there are so many people here who are trying to make a dent in this messy world and yesterday was no exception...

a few weeks ago dwight said we were cancelling church to stop being "spiritual porkers" and be spiritual doers. some people looked at him like he was crazy...you know, like he should be in the looney bin. who in their right mind would stop a sunday and kick people out to do projects in their community? well, newpointe community church - that's who. maybe you missed the sunday where dwight said that people who are frustrated with this and might go to another church on aug 3rd should stay there. ding!

anyway, yesterday was awesome. there were over 1,000 people in yellow shirts doing projects around holmes and tusc counties...and other people helping out without the free shirt. it was an awesome time watching everyone clean up parks and schools, give free hair cuts to kids, do health screenings, and deliver boxes of food to the county's food pantries.

HSM pitched in by taking 55 HSMmers and volunteers to Dover South and Dover Middle School. we spread mulch, pulled weeds, and painted benches - it was awesome to see everyone pitch in.
