i'm excited about our new nametags for msm this weekend...
here's a sneak preview...

why am i so excited, you ask? well...let me tell you...
1. a nametag like this looks awesome
2. it was a cheap, valuable investment in our msm staff
3. easily identifies our staff
4. gives clarity to a "win" in student ministry
many times we (lead youth workers) know what an environment should look and feel like. also, we get to hear about the "wins" from our staff. this small investment reminds msm staff their reason for volunteering, but also shows them what a successful sunday looks like.
we forget to celebrate when we get a win in student ministry. a win could be something as simple as explaining what msm looks like on sunday morning. a win could be having a meaningful conversation with a student. a win is connecting a student with a peer who is already engaged in the environment. a win is taking a student into deeper connection with god.
it's easy to get discouraged, but if you (the lead youth worker) clarify the wins for your student ministry staff they will be looking for the wins on a weekly basis - and sharing it with each other.
that's good stuff.
