i like environments...

maybe a weird title, but i'll explain.

i really like going to different types of places to get inspired and energized. i was thinking about this recently when a new coffee shop opened up down the road in sugarcreek. it's called the wallhouse (no, they're not paying me to say this), but i really enjoy going there. i like the atmosphere, and believe me i was needing something like wallhouse in my life.

i remember going to NYC in the month of january. i honestly think i spent about 10 days out of the month in the city seeing shows, walking around, and just finding random places. this place is full of environments that give me energy and spark my creativity. i love it!

i guess this is why i love my new church so much. the environments are so unique. i like going to a church that encourages creativity. yeah...it's good.

i'm also excited for easter. busy weekend ahead...family and friends coming in, church, food on sunday afternoon. most of them are my favorite things, so i'm all set!

this is really funny to me...

God is good...

He is.

Someone came into my office today and told me something really profound. Here's what she said...

"God is who we allow Him to be..."

Think about that.

Now, we all know that God's character doesn't change over time. But, sometimes we don't allow God to be all that He's promised to be. I mean, really...in a time where you're really upset do you really allow and invite God to come and be your friend? So often we wallow in our self pity that we don't ask God to come and comfort or befriend us. In a time where you are in limbo about your future have you really asked God to be faithful and direct your paths.

Sometimes, as Christians, we define God by our human concepts when in reality we should be allowing God's character to show itself. I know I do. I wonder why God hasn't "shown up" when really I haven't invited Him in the first place.

So, today allow God to be who He said He is.
